Uber has expanded its pet-friendly ride option, Uber Pet, to Delhi and Mumbai after first launching the service in Bengaluru. Designed to make commuting easier for pet parents, Uber Pet allows riders to bring their furry companions along—whether it’s for a last-minute trip or a scheduled appointment, thanks to options for both instant booking and ride reservations.
This rollout comes with an added perk: a new partnership with Heads Up For Tails (HUFT), one of India’s leading pet care brands. Riders who use Uber Pet can access exclusive discounts at HUFT stores and spas across the three cities, simply by showing their ride receipt.
A representative from Uber India and South Asia’s Rider Verticals team noted that this expansion was driven by community feedback. They shared that pet parents had asked for more flexibility, and the service now allows on-demand travel with pets—no extra steps, just book and go. The spokesperson also highlighted how the collaboration with HUFT adds value by making the travel experience even more rewarding.

A HUFT representative added that the partnership reflects a shared goal: to improve everyday outings for pet families. From seamless transport to in-store perks, both brands are aiming to make every pet-inclusive journey safe, easy, and enjoyable.
India isn’t the first to hop on the Uber Pet wagon. The service has already been rolled out in several global cities—including New York, Los Angeles, Mexico City, and São Paulo—each adapting to the needs of local pet parents. In the US, for example, Uber Pet is part of the main app and includes a small surcharge. Riders are advised to bring a towel or blanket to avoid messes, and it’s up to drivers whether they accept non-dog pets. In Mexico and Brazil, Uber Pet has helped ease the stress of vet visits and groomer trips in cities where pet ownership is steadily rising.
With the growing demand for pet-friendly services worldwide, Uber Pet is steadily becoming a global staple—and India’s major metros are now right in step with that trend.
To book an Uber Pet ride, users just need to select the ‘Uber Pet’ option in the app, confirm the ride details, and they’re set for travel—with pets in tow.
